I'm sitting in my studio in Canada, contemplating what my first blog post should be about. While I'm eager to share my latest work and future projects, I believe it’s essential to introduce myself properly first. I was born in Germany and lived there until my mid-twenties. Since I was a little girl, my dream has always been to become an artist. Like many children, I enjoyed painting and even won several painting competitions, but my professional art journey began in a different way. From a young age, I was captivated by photography, obsessed with capturing moments in time. I bought my first professional camera when I was eighteen, initially focusing on landscapes, castles, and old cemeteries. Eventually, I fell in love with portrait photography, inspired by my passion for music and everything dark and mysterious. Soon after that, I rediscovered my love for painting. I have always been drawn to painting faces. I started creating my girls in 2006. Over the past 20 years, my style has evolved, and my medium and materials have changed—from abstract faces to big-eyed art, from acrylics to oils, and from paper to canvas. People often ask me if I ever get tired of painting faces. Honestly, I don’t, because each face tells a story, a feeling, or a song I was listening to at the time. When I look at my paintings from the last 20 years, I can remember exactly what was happening in my life during each moment. My portraits are like a diary, telling the pain and joy I felt at those times. In addition to painting, I began creating my own jewelry in 2008. What started as a little side project soon became something much bigger for me. I love creating pieces that reflect my own aesthetic style. In 2010, I opened my first shop and have been selling my jewelry online ever since. I hope you liked the little inside view! I will continue this blog, writing about my art, jewelry and other projects!
